AVERAGE LIFE GHETTO CHILD
Wanda Rogers considered herself to be an average ghetto child. She started using drugs and alcohol early in life. To support her drug use, she started selling her body, and stealing whatever she could. Her whole life eventually evolved around getting more drugs and alcohol to try to stay high; to try to bury the pain of hopelessness and despair that runs pandemic in the ghetto.
People who have not been raised in the ghetto environment have a hard time understanding how difficult it is being raised in the 'ghetto jungle.' (Though not all become involved in gang activity, the pressure for youth to belong to a gang grows heavier and heavier in most ghettos, along with selling and using drugs and with the violence that comes with it).
Most children have a mindset ingrained in them by the time they reach roughly age 10. If the adults they are around are doing little more than drinking and drugging and stealing and sleeping with anyone and everyone to get more drugs or just try to find someone to truly love and accept them, children can easily assume this is what it is going to be like for them as well as they grow to be adults.
Some children are also taught to hate at an early age just by the way adults talk and act. In the ghetto, one does not have to go long without hearing that white people are the ones who are ultimately responsible for why the ghetto atmosphere exists in the first place. In certain predominately white communities, children are subtly or overtly taught that people who live in the ghetto deserve everything life hands them.
In certain cultures across the world, children are subtly or overtly taught that America is the reason for all their suffering, and the main purpose in life is to take out America.
Meanwhile, Satan is laughing. He is laughing, because he realizes that most of these youth are little more than puppets in his hands to do his bidding on planet Earth.
Wanda has an amazing story of overcoming obstacle after obstacle that so many ghetto children have staring them directly in the face, but until she sought God for help to overcome her obstacles and was serious about it, she realizes that she most likely would not even be alive today.
There is nothing on this planet that Jesus Christ cannot and will not help a person overcome, if they will sincerely admit their need for help. God has limitless power ' limitless means to help people out of their bondages. But most people refuse to see it that way. Most people would rather stay angry at God their whole life by blaming God for either allowing or causing them to be in the miserable life they are living in the first place. Some people are so addicted to anger in various forms that they do not even realize that anger is just as lethal a destroyer and a killer as drug and alcohol addiction is.
The Holy Bible tells us the prison and the bondage anger will place us in, if we do not trust God to show us HOW to get free and stay free from anger. Most people will never get free from the mental hell they know until they allow the Holy Spirit to empower them to break free from the prison of anger. Most people truly hate their addictions, at least after awhile. Hating our addictions is a GOOD kind of hate. If we do not hate our addictions, we will not push beyond our comfort zones to tap into the help God will give us. But, when one is addicted to hate and does not even REALIZE they are addicted to hate, they are not going to trust Jesus Christ to help them get delivered of it.
If you can relate to any of this, please do yourself a favor and watch Wanda's testimony. Keep an open mind. It may be what God will use to give you the insight, hope and courage to have a glorious testimony one day of your OWN to share, just like Wanda now has.
Wanda and her husband, Ervin, now are being used of the Lord to help others who are trying to overcome obstacles as well. Among other things, they are doing what they can do to help people released from prison to adjust to society. Roughly 70% if not higher of those who get released from prison will end up going back there, simply because the obstacles before them seem just too big to overcome. When temptation arises, they quickly fall back into the same old patterns they have always known. Get high to ease the pain. Do whatever seems right at the moment to get some money to get high again TOMORROW. Without the power of the Holy Spirit inside them and some type of support mechanism, they are such easy prey for Satan. Wanda and Ervin Rogers are telling everyone who will listen that God has power available to those who will come to Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, if they will only get serious with Him, and they speak out of their own experiences, and the Bible, and the testimony of many others just like themselves.
Getting serious with Jesus Christ does not mean asking Him for help just one time, (though asking the FIRST time is probably the most IMPORTANT time!) and if/when it does not seem to work, give up on Him. The battle for souls is too intense. Satan does not give up that easy. He will patiently wait for an opportune time, and then he will have his demons execute his strategy to put you back into bondage again. Wanda and Ervin knows all about his strategies. Jesus Christ NEVER quits on those who will keep hanging in there with Him. Satan and his demons will try to convince us that Jesus Christ has quit on us, but it is always a lie. If he can get us to belief that lie, we can easily quit on JESUS which He will allow us to do if we choose to do so, but he will not quit on us. He paid too great a price on the Cross to be quitting on the lost souls of mankind. It does not matter how many times you fall back into sin ' fall back into your addictions and bondages. Our heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit will be right there to help get you out of them again and again, as often as is needed, because They fully realize Satan will NEVER quit trying to pull you back to mental and physical hell on earth. Satan is going to keep trying to trap you over and over into sin - into one addiction or another - to get you to break the law - because the more times he can get away with it, the less effective you will be for God to use YOU to reach out and help other people from destroying themselves.
