Jesus Did It!

If you have not watched the video: WAR ROOM, you absolutely need to! 

There are few Christian movies I have ever endorsed to the degree that I believe the Lord has moved me to endorse WAR ROOM. WAR ROOM is not entertainment for Christians (though it will keep you glued to it: Keep your box of tissues handy). It is a moving, gut-wrenching yet effective means the Holy Spirit is using to open up the awareness of Christians to just how intense the spiritual battle is for our "Christian" marriages.

But not just struggling marriages. LIFE PERIOD. RELATIONSHIPS OF EVERY KIND!

If I was a Pastor and a couple asked me to marry them, I would REFUSE 100 out of 100 couples unless they did two things FIRST:

1) Buy a copy of the DVD: WAR ROOM, the couple watches it together, then they would need to get back to me so we could discuss the movie. 

2) What would I discuss with them? How much they understand Ephesians Chapter 6:10-18:

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people.

I am fully persuaded that fewer and fewer newer 'Christians' have any clue of what is really going on in the spirit realm and how it affects us. Why?  Mostly because they either don't want to seek God to understand (gain greater understanding), and/or simply don't care. More and more, if carnal Christians can't "see" it, they surmise, it's not applicable to them.  And if the topic isn't regularly talked about from their Pastor's pulpit, they assume by silence the topic must not be all that important.

Ignorance on our part of the spirit realm truly IS bliss to Satan and his evil demon spirits helping to do his will, because the less we know and discern about the evil spirit dimension and how it influences us, the easier it is for Satan to inflict Christians with his attacks upon their relationships ' their spouses (and children once they come along. If you were the devil, would YOU want Christians to have a joyous, harmonious marriage? NO WAY! Yet most newlyweds have little to no clue just how intent Satan will try to inject pain in their marriage every chance he is given. So much pain, in fact, that any feelings of love and respect float away into oblivion as the pain is allowed to fester.

When two people come together, especially if they have never been married before, and they have intense feelings of love for each other, all they can think about is how much BETTER life will hopefully be for them once they officially get married. How wonderful it is to experience the awesome feelings that accompany that season of life. Yet without adequate awareness of spiritual matters, those intense feelings of love can drown out the common-sense need that from day one of marriage, Satan will patiently wait ' seeking to find ways to make that marriage one of the most joyless relationships known to mankind. That is WHY Christians need to be informed right from the start ' actually BEFORE they get officially married - because once conflict starts and gains a firm foothold, the desire to engage in effective spiritual warfare becomes less and less important for so many.  

If a soldier isn't adequately trained before being engaged in battle ... more than likely, he/she will become a defeated causality of his/her enemy.  

Conflict ALWAYS comes in marriage: It's just a matter of occasion and to what degree (God promised [warned!] conflict in marriage will come). Couple's who REALIZE it is one day going to come, and are trained in HOW to engage in effective spiritual warfare to keep it at bay and remains fully aware at all times that Satan is always working behind the scenes to bring forth conflict, (and then take advantage of that conflict to bring anger and hurt in the relationship) ... these couples will be much better equipped to deal with their conflict.  A prepared wounded soldier can survive. An unprepared wounded soldier gives up his/her will to fight -- hence survive. "Defection temptation" often seems the best way out (Hint: Seeking consolation [emotional gratification] from someone else other than your spouse -- Satan almost always has someone who will give you that if you make yourself openly vulnerable in your hurt).  

[Sidebar: We all need emotional gratification - especially when we are having conflict in marriage. When we are having severe conflict with our spouse, we need to be WISE and open up to receive prayer and encouragement ONLY from Holy Spirit guided men and women of God we can TRUST. There's many "wolves in sheep's clothing" Satan will send your way in your pain if you make yourself unwisely vulnerable in your pain!].

A couple who knows how to discern and WAR Spiritually against Satan and his strategies (NOT war against EACH OTHER! - which is typical for most couples - again because they aren't aware that in marital conflict - it's you and your spouse and Satan that is involved in the battle: Always 3 persons, not just you two) to cripple their relationship with each other will be the couple who will be VICTORIOUS when conflict is experienced. The couple who has no clue that Satan is ALWAYS looking to captivate on conflict in the marriage are the one's who Satan is able to execute his evil strategies against the easiest.

An important key to walk in victory in our marriages is to covenant in peaceful times to work as a TEAM WITH OUR SPOUSE IN UNITY - IN AGREEMENT - to fight Satan together when conflict arises -- NOT team up WITH Satan to fight your SPOUSE! 

Let's say you and your spouse are in a foxhole. The enemy is advancing from all directions, firing at you. Positioned back to back in the foxhole, your spouse needs you firing forward and you need your spouse firing forward to take out as many of the enemy as you can before you two are taken out. Satan wants your ANGRY spouse in the foxhole to turn around while you are firing and stick a small dagger in your back without getting caught at it. That's WHY we need to let God ALWAYS help us deal with our anger QUICKLY when we have been hurt in our marriage. Unresolved anger left unchecked - buried; usually worse yet - always lashes out in retaliation in one form or another at the one who hurt us if not resolved quickly.        

Too many marriages are ending up in painful divorces, simply because Satan was allowed to work silently behind the scenes until it became too late to stop the damage he was allowed to take advantage of. Couples entering into marriage need to be warned of this BEFORE they get married and instructed in how to not let Satan gain any advantage when conflict arises in their marriage. Again: the DVD: WAR ROOM as a primer. 

I would not want any Christian couple I marry to end up divorced. I've been through a divorce, so I know the pain it brings. It can cripple some people the rest of their lives in various ways. Some people carry so much pain from a divorce they refuse to ever attempt to trust God for another marriage again that might well be very satisfying. Some children experience so much pain from their parent's divorce that they refuse to commit to marriage themselves. They will have fornication with someone they enjoy being with, but will refuse to make the commitment to marry that person. Divorce is emotional trauma in most situations, and that is what Satan is into:  Rob, kill, and destroy meaningful Christian marriages that God wants to bless.

So PLEASE, purchase a DVD copy of WAR ROOM and watch it with your mate if possible. Keep it handy when conflict arises in your marriage and/or in child issues. Keep it handy to loan out to OTHER married couples who are having painful conflict in THEIR marriages. God does not want Christians to be victims of Satan's devices against them, but they must have the correct knowledge and spiritual discernment to fight against the strategies of the enemy.
