individual then many others. It seems repulsive, but God knows best. And I can tell you from personal experiences, it works!
Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coal on his head. (Romans 12:17-19 NKJV)
That kind of love will slice right down through the emptiness in them and they will either leave your friend or loved one alone or will themselves turn to God! Don't expect this to happen over night. There will be battles and they will seem to last forever. The new Christian inmate may wonder if he will ever get a break from these people, but by continuing to operate in love, he will feel the peace of God come over him.
Other times when walking in God's love, a Christian will want to share and spread so much love that he will feel like he is going to blow up. Many Christians will go out to share and help others, but many times they will experience much rejection. Even though people deep down inside desire love, most in prison don't have a clue what real love is. Most think it is a desire to have or lust, so when a believer in Christ tries to pass some love or kindness around, he is quickly greeted with three types of reactions. First, some who have been burned before will think that he is fake and he is just trying to get them somehow. Second, the user will accept his kindness and try to take advantage of him in some way. Third, a few will accept this walk of love and do so from a pure heart with no bad intentions. To the Christian that is trying to spread the great love of Christ, it can be very hard to handle the rejection or the continual 'being used' feeling. All of us need to realize that we are doing these things for eternal purposes for the kingdom of God. It is our hope that others will see His love through ours and desire to be a part of it.

Remember: All that we do in this life comes back to our God-given purpose which is to serve and glorify God.
