C. S. Upthegrove received a very powerful angelic visitation while on an intense 21 day fast. The final words the mighty angel spoke to him regarding his future ministry before departing were: 'There will be healing in your hands.' Here is just one of the many miracle healings that came forth after that angelic encounter, taken from the faith inspiring book: The Wait, The Power, The Evidence, published by Hope Harvest Publishing.

Soon after my angelic visit, miracles began to happen everywhere the Lord led me to preach. One of these miracle healings took place in Hollywood, Florida, off Highway 441 at Pastor Hill's church, while preaching under a crusade tent. A man came up on the platform where I was praying for the sick. Back in those days, ramps were used to bring those that needed healing on the platform. This man struggled to make it up the ramp because one of his legs was stiff.  

As he stood in front of me, I was informed that there was no kneecap development from his birth. This poor man was also blind in his right eye. You could visibly see that part of his ear was eaten away by cancer and part of his nose was missing. As if that was not enough, he had 17 cancer spots on his face as well as cancer in his inner ear. As he explained all of this, he had in his hand a doctor's report stating all the things that were wrong with him. Along with the doctor's slip was a bag of daily medications. This man was literally a walking time bomb. According to the doctor's report, at any moment the inner ear cancer could spread into a vital part of his body and he could die in his sleep.  

As I stood there looking at this man in the natural, he appeared so helpless. But, I knew by the Spirit that there was one who could help him; His name is Jesus Christ.  

It seems that the devil never misses an opportunity to feed us thoughts of doubt and discouragement as to what we are going to do when we pray for someone and they do not receive their healing. That is when our faith is tested. As the devil stood behind me whispering negative thoughts into my mind, I boldly shouted to the devil, 'What are you going to do when my prayer is answered and the Lord heals him?'  

The Lord has taught me to visualize people being made whole in the spirit before they are healed in the natural. This is called faith! That is exactly what I did for this man. I told the devil that he was a liar. I prayed with authority in my voice, 'Lord Jesus, heal this man! Cancer, you are but a name, and you must bow to the name of Jesus. Therefore, cancer be cursed, in Jesus name.'

As I prayed for the man, there appeared a cream-like substance around each one of the cancer spots on his face. At the time, that was the only visible change to those of us in the room. The man turned around to go to his seat after I prayed for him. I could see the people in the congregation wore their thoughts on their faces. It looked as if they were in total unbelief of what the Lord had just performed in this man's body. The people were still seeing in the natural. They still saw a man with 17 cancer spots. They also saw a chunk of his ear and nose still missing. It seemed in the natural that a healing had not taken place on his body.  

Hear this my friend: You cannot put miracles in a box and say that this is the only way they work. Jesus proved that when he cursed the fig tree (See: Matt 21:19).  Just as Jesus cursed the fig tree, so I cursed the man's cancer spots on his face. The man accepted the prayer and believed for his healing. He sat down and did not mind what others were seeing or thinking of him. It was obvious he was convinced he had been healed!

The next night during the church service there was commotion on the platform. Brother Ricks, the drummer, had fallen off the platform backwards. I said to him, 'Brother Ricks, what happened?"  

As brother Ricks got back on his feet, he spoke repeatedly with amazement in his voice. He pointed toward the back seats saying, 'That man, that man, that man, back there. See that man back there? That is the man with all those cancer spots.'  

I looked back where he was pointing, and I did not recognize the man, so I asked him to please come to the front of the church. The man came forward and began telling everyone about the miraculous healings that took place in his body throughout the night. His appearance was better. The 17 cancer spots were completely gone. His face was as smooth as a child's face. He told everyone how the cancer inside his ear had fallen out and was found lying on his pillow that morning. He explained how the Lord healed his leg by giving him a brand new kneecap. He could walk just fine. His ear and nose were completely restored. It was if he had become a new man. Glory be to God!

Remember: All that we do in this life comes back to our God-given purpose which is to serve and glorify God. The money and assets we accumulate, the fame and power we've attained or seek to attain - all of the things of this nature will one day pass away, but those lives of others we impact for Jesus Christ will last for eternity, and we will be rewarded for the part we helped play by impacting those lives ... for eternity.
