IS GOD FAIR? ABSOLUTELY NOT!

Jesus Did It!

 (By: Norm Rasmussen)

Not the way we humans tend to gauge 'fairness,' anyway.

If you go to any popular search engine on the Internet and type in the question: 'IS GOD FAIR?' there are some excellent writings to be found on this topic, thus I don't feel to duplicate a writing that already exists on the Internet.

Rather, I feel to make an attempt to address this issue from God's perspective rather than ours. In so doing, perhaps it will change your perspective just a little on this topic of 'fairness,' if you are struggling at all with it, as a lot of people do at one time or another.

If you are student at all of the Bible, especially the New Testament, you are aware that we humans are a three part being: Spirit, Soul and Body (See: 1 Thessalonians 5:3). Christian ministers pretty much agree that the soul consists of the mind, the will and the emotions of a person. The body is the flesh, blood, organs and bones, etc., of the person. Yet what no one can tell you about, including me, is much about our spirit. The Bible tells us we have one, but the Bible does not make it totally clear when it became/becomes a part of us. Does God gives us our spirit at the moment of conception, or later? Does the uniting of our spirit with our soul and body come later? Later for some; earlier for others? God simply doesn't clearly tells us that in the Bible, which would seem logical to me that God didn't think it was all that important to tell us about it, or He would have.

Therefore, what I'm about to write is simply in the category of pretend -- In the category of hypothetical. It is in that category of 'What if?' It might be so, it might NOT be so. My purpose in doing so is not to speculate about when our spirit came into existence, but rather to make an IMPORTANT point for anyone who is really struggling with the 'fairness' of God, (or the lack thereof):

Suppose the spirit of every person that has ever been born on this planet, or ever will be born in the future on this planet, was given roughly a five minute one-on-one conversation with God in the spirit realm before their spirit was sent by God to unite with a fetus in a mother's womb, let's say at the moment of conception. What took place during that pretend five-minute one-on-one conversation with God?

Setting the stage, let's assume your spirit did not exist but one minute before that five minute one-on-one conversation with God happened.

Saying it another way, just one minute prior to your pretend five minute one-on-one conversation with God, you spirit was created by God. Your spirit was instantaneously created by God as a thinking creation, and within moments after God creating your spirit, your imaginary-pretend five minute one-on-one begins:

God: 'Welcome to creation. I have created you to enjoy you, and so others can enjoy you as well. I want to enjoy you forever from this moment on, but the only fair way I can enjoy you to the fullest is to give you the ability to choose. In giving you this ability to choose, there will come with that ability a great deal of pain at times. Do you want me to continue, or do you want me to stop right here?'

You:  'I want to please you, Father. Please don't stop. Just tell me what you desire of me, so I can make you pleased with me.'

God: 'Very well then. I desire to send you to a planet called Earth. If you desire to go, you will have no remembrance of this conversation we are having right now while you are alive on Earth. Because I have some very special plans for you through eternity that will please me, you will suffer a great deal while you are on Earth. In comparison to many others, you will suffer a great deal more than them. Some of those purposes of why I will have allowed you to suffer, you will come to have some dim understanding of before returning back to Me. There will be other reasons while you are on Earth, and why you are suffering there, I will make certain will remain a mystery to you until a future time. Are you still willing to endure a short span of trial on Earth in light of eternity 'to please Me ' to qualify for all I have prepared for you in the future?'

You: 'Yes, Father. Surely whatever you allow to happen to me while on Earth will help qualify me to become all you desire for me to be throughout eternity. I accept whatever you allow to happen to me not only while I'm on Earth, but from this moment on and throughout eternity.'

God: I appreciate you trusting my wisdom. It will become extremely difficult for you to trust my wisdom at various times while you are on Earth. I will make certain it will be difficult for you, in fact, because what I have in mind for you in eternity will require a great deal of what I call character. I do not just give character to any of my spirit creations that unite with an earthly body. Character must be grown, and character must be earned ... for it to be of priceless value. Character is best grown through the different trials you will face during your life on Earth, by the decisions, choices - you will make, and how you then respond to those choices.

Do you still want to proceed with my character growth plan for you on Earth?'

You: 'Yes, why would I not?'

God: 'Because most spirits that go to Earth to live in the body I give them fail the most important character test or tests I give them, thus the character they will need to become all I have planned for them in eternity to be ... will not get grown in them.

You: 'What happens to those who fail the most important test or tests you give them?'

God: 'I will allow some to take those tests over, until they pass. Others will be allowed to keep taking those tests until it is very evident that they will never pass. Once that happens, they will be of no use to me, others, or even themselves. They will never know what they could have had in eternity had they been determined to pass each character test.'

At that moment, your one-on-one session with God is over.

The next thing you know, you are on Earth, and you haven't a clue while you are there. To come to an understanding of why you are there, becomes part of your testing process.

Thus it is true. God is not 'fair,' but He is precisely ALWAYS RIGHT. Because He IS wisdom, He knows precisely what each of us must endure while here on this planet, to have the necessary character formed in us ' to help prepare us for what He has planned for us throughout eternity.

 P.S.

As sort of a P.S. to this writing, I am aware that certain people teach that all of us on this planet are, or were, angel beings at one time. Certain of these ones also teach that we existed during the time when Satan and the myriad of angels in the heavenly realms showed their loyalty to Satan. We had not stepped over the line of rebellion against God YET, so to speak -- clearly making the decision to follow after Satan's lies, but we were very, very close.

And so to see what we ultimately would do in showing our loyalty to God or loyalty to our selfish nature, (which is the identical core nature of Satan), God put certain ones of us down here on this planet to see what our choices would end up being prior to our dying and subsequent judgment to follow.

I do NOT want anyone assuming that I believe any person (human being) is or was an angel. I see no clear biblical support for making such an assumption, just like I stated earlier in this writing that I see no biblical support that our spirit had a pretend five minute one-on-one conversation with God prior to being sent here to Earth. Some might say that Jeremiah 1:5 lends strong support to the possibility, but to me, that is far too speculative.

However, because I cannot clearly prove you and I are NOT angels in disguise inside our earthly bodies either, it remains speculation at best. Likewise, it remains pure speculation that God gave us even a split second of time to have a conversation with Him prior to us being in the womb of our mother, or anytime thereafter.

Having gone on the record to say that as clearly as I know how, to me, it is NOT speculation that God is most interested in the choices we make while we are alive in these earthly bodies. Far too much Holy Scripture in the Bible builds a clear enough case that God places moral character in each of us as His TOP PRIORITY.

From Our Field Of Moral Character, All Sprouts

From our field of moral character, all sprouts. Crops that produce wonderful bounty -- weeds that are useless and do little else but suck life out of useful crops such as wheat.

Your child may have been born deformed and even retarded, but neither you nor I have any idea how that is shaping the character of your child's spirit, nor YOURS, nor perhaps others. Your child may have died at an early age, simply for the sake of shaping your character.  We could build a list of common painful trials many people must deal with in life, but we won't.

Suffice to say: Life is a trial, and life is a test.  Life is about choices. The wise person stops dwelling on 'the fairness of things in this life' and begins to thank God and trust God for the trials they have experienced in the past, and will experience in the future. Each trial we face provides an opportunity for precious character to grow and/or be enhanced in our spirit being, when we begin to grasp what the life down here on Earth is REALLY all about.

What IS life down here on the planet REALLY all about? It is qualification time and then preparation time to prepare us for eternity: To inherit blessings beyond comprehension through eternity by the wise choices we make, or to suffer the consequences beyond comprehension for eternity of unwise choices we make.

God had His very best in mind for you, from the moment you were born. Have you been squandering the opportunities life has offered you to be tested and to come out the other side a richer spirit for it, or has it added one more reason in your spirit to distance yourself from your Creator? Your  character field is growing something ... dear one.

Let's look at being tested a little more closely. Clearly the Bible states that most flunk the 'Eternal Life test':

'Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.'  (Matthew 7:13-14 NKJV).

And - one will never pass the 'Eternal Life test' until they pass the 'Truth test.'

If you aren't sure what the 'Truth test' IS, I highly encourage you to obtain a Bible and read the entirety of the Book of John. Every time the word 'Truth' appears, take your time in pondering its meaning. How you perceive and then ultimately respond to 'Truth' will effect your eternity.

Jesus clearly states in the Book of John: 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through Me.' (John 14:6 NKJV)

Most flunk in how they respond to this declaration Jesus made/makes. Dear reader, I encourage YOU to not end up being one who flunks. God wills for you to PASS, but He grants you the ability to choose, and loves you enough to give you the right to flunk.

I'll end this by asking one last question. If your heart stopped beating a few moments from now, and your spirit then goes back to The Creator for a one-on-one conversation ... and The Creator happens to be Jesus Christ ...  Would you consider that fair or unfair?

Dear Reader - are you at peace with God? If not, you can be. Do you know what awaits you when you die? You can have the assurance from God that heaven will be your home, if you would like to be certain. You can even have that assurance RIGHT NOW! Either Jesus Christ died for your sins, or He didn't (He did!). Are you prepared to stand before God on the Judgment Day and tell Him that you didn't need the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the Cross to have your sins forgiven and get in right-standing with God? We plead with you...please don't make such a tragic mistake.

To get to know God, to be at peace with God, to have your sins forgiven, to make certain heaven will be your home for eternity, to make certain that you are in right-standing with God right now ... please click here to help you understand the importance of being reconciled to God. What you do about being reconciled to God will determine where you will spend eternity, precious one. Your decision to be reconciled to God is the most important decision you'll ever make in this life, because in Christ, it is impossible to put a value on the worth of your soul in light of eternity.

PLEASE HELP US HELP YOU SHARE THE BEST NEWS GOD HAS FOR EVERY PERSON BECAUSE...

JESUS DID IT! and...

YOU ARE SO GREATLY NEEDED!

Remember:  All that we do in this life comes back to our God-given purpose which is to serve and glorify God. The money and assets we accumulate, the fame and power we've attained or seek to attain - all of the things of this nature will one day pass away, but those lives of others we impact for Jesus Christ will last for eternity, and we will be rewarded for the part we helped play by impacting those lives ... for eternity. (Matthew 6:19-20 is our assurance)
