You Are So Special to God!

Video      (By: Norm Rasmussen)

Many people go through life never thinking they are very special to anyone else. Life has been cruel. Life has handed them hardship after hardship, and they simply have a hard time imagining they have much value to anyone, let alone value to God.

Maybe you are one of these people. If you are, my hope is that God uses me to help change your understanding of your worth 'your value' your very special importance to God.

What you have or don't have has no bearing on your value to God. You might have no family; you might be living in a cardboard box and eating from rubbish piles to survive, but that doesn't make you any less valuable to God than a person who has billions of dollars and has six or more different mansions to live in. What you are is what is valuable to God ' not what you have or don't have.

And what are you? You are an eternal spirit being. Your spirit will live forever. Because God created you in His image, your spirit has no choice but to live forever.

Living forever is an eternal blessing ' or an eternal curse; an eternal hell. God gives each of us the choice in what eternity will hold for us. God gives us the power of choice to experience eternal life, or eternal death. Eternal death is not having our spirit cease to exist, as some falsely teach. Eternal death is knowing forever that your value to God has been severed, and that value will never be useful to you, to God, nor to anyone else.

The Bible clearly states that those who make Jesus Christ their personal Savior and Lord will experience eternal life. Because Jesus Christ is fully God (along with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit), only the One who created you has the power to grant you eternal life. God has not granted that power to anyone else. He reserves it for Himself.

What will eternal life be about? Forever peace? Forever joy? No sadness? No pain? No sorrow? No more sin? The ability to experience God with absolutely no hindrances? Yes, but much more than that! It will allow God to develop your spirit to the fullest! It will allow God to prove to you and every other created being just how special you truly are to Him!

No two created beings are identically the same to God. They may have similarities, but they are not identically the same. God made certain of it when He created us. God doesn't want identical lovers. He wants uniquely different lovers. You wouldn't want two identical lovers, so why would God?

Dear one, eternal life with God is experiencing His eternal love forever. If you've ever had the opportunity to experience a 'first love', falling head over heels in love with someone to when you even think of them, though you aren't in their presence, your mind swoons with euphoria beyond what mere words can describe. I'm convinced God gave us the ability to experience a 'first love' with someone so that we could have some idea what eternal life, eternal love - is going to be like with God - forever being enraptured in His love. Having our heartbeat race every time simply thinking of Him!

If you're like most, your 'first love' slipped away from you. It was heartbreaking, wasn't it? Some people get to experience a 'second love' with another, but it doesn't happen that often. 'Second loves' are never quite as uniquely special as that 'first love.' When we are in the presence of God, never to leave Him nor He leave us, we are going to swoon with love for Him and from Him a trazillion times more intensely than what we swooned with our earthly 'first love.' And it will only intensify as eons and eons of time passes!

Eternal - everlasting life is the same as eternal love. Eternal life means to experience love unlike the human mind right now can possibly comprehend, forever. (Eternal life means more than just experiencing eternal love, however. It also means to be empowered to experience, and help others experience, greater dimensions of joy than what we can possibly comprehend at the present time. It also involves being empowered to comprehend the glory of God to it's fullest comprehension and be granted special, creative abilities to help expand the glory of God ... for eternity without end).

Eternal love means that God will never stop loving us and start loving another, like our 'first love' did (or we did to our 'first love'). Knowing beyond all shadow of a doubt that God will never leave us nor forsake us and shower His love on someone else will only fuel our devotion and passion for Him all the more, eternity without end.

God the Holy Spirit uses the apostle Paul to use mere human words to try to help you and I get some vague comprehension about this love God has right now for us, and how intense that love will be for eternity. Let His love promises seep deep inside your heart:

"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?  Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?"  (Romans 8:35 NKJV)

"For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."  (Romans 8:38-19 NKJV)

Yes, I know we can read over these love promises from God above, and they can just come across as more words. Words that sound good for a moment or so, but when we take our eyes away from them, we feel no different because the pain of life holds a death grip on us. And perhaps the pain and frustration of our attempts to connect with God have also fallen short in times past, which only adds more layers of pain to our existing pain. (I experienced that pain for my first 35 years of living, making half-hearted struggling attempts to connect with a God I wasn't totally convinced even existed. It's hell on earth).

But let's back up a couple of verses and ponder deeply what God tells us in Romans 8:31-34:

"What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us."

At this very moment, the lover of your soul sits at the right hand of God the Father, making certain that angels are getting dispatched to watch your back, to make certain your devotion to Him is not snuffed out by the deceitfulness of sin and Satan and the painful cares of this life. Though the Father allows you to experience trial after trial to test your loyalty to Him and form your character that has eternal ramifications (payback), His Son is making certain you'll make it to heaven to be with Him, if you choose not to divorce Him.

Yet let's backtrack even further. Maybe you've not heard it said, and in case not, God the Father loves you so much that if you were the only sinner to ever live on planet earth, the Father would still have sent His only begotten son to come down from the highest heaven and take full punishment for your sins by dying a cruel and painful death on the cross. Why would Jesus Christ have done that? Why did Jesus Christ do that? Because you're that special to Him. What more could he do to prove to you that you're that special?

There have been a few who have died and stood in the presence of Jesus Christ for a short while, yet were told to come back to this life, because God had more for them to do for Him (and most likely He had more work to do in them) before being allowed to remain in His presence forever. They all say the same thing. Once you have been in the presence of Jesus Christ and experienced the incredible love that comes from Him and gets transferred to you, you never want to leave His presence ever again, because His love is all there and is worth living for from that moment on.

A lady comes to mind I know personally. She was suddenly thrust into the spirit realm from a serious health issue and her first memory in that realm was being in the presence of Jesus Christ. In her best attempt, she was not able to put into mere words how powerful 'how incredibly euphoric' how exhilarating and thrilling it was to experience the love that Jesus immersed her in. My heart started pounding with excitement as she shared her encounter with me, though as she shared how difficult it was to come back to this life away from His love was the most painful trial she ever experienced, that didn't excite me as no one else would be excited about experiencing that either.

Judgment Day is coming. The Bible promises it is coming. Every person will be in the full presence of the love of Jesus Christ. They will have a taste of eternal love that mere words could not possibly describe, 'a taste of eternal life' and then judgment will be pronounced on their behalf, and then that love will be removed from them - forever.

Out of the presence of God for eternity after that 'they will have that memory forever of what they could have had, that unspeakable love they could have had from Him 'but no longer will be able have it' forever.

They will also have the knowing that they lost the specialness that God created them to have and created them to be, because they rejected love personified, their desire to receive love and give love will have so sadly died. That comes lot and parcel with eternal death.

Eternal anguish will be the only thing they will have left to experience. Anguish from what they could have had, but no longer can have.

Dear one, until you breathe your last breath, it is not too late to fall in love and marry (maybe remarry?) the lover of all lovers. His name is Jesus Christ, the One who loves you so much; He died for you to ransom you to Himself. You're that special to Him. He loves you that much.

What keeps you from changing your eternal destiny this very moment, if you've yet to make Jesus Christ your Savior and Lord? You have been given the power to choose eternal life or eternal death. We encourage you to be wise!
