PERSONAL NOTE TO
By: Dan Revoir
This is the good news (Gospel of Jesus Christ) which is, if you never have heard it'
Romans 3:23: 'For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.'
Notice carefully, God says all have sinned, by birth (Adam's sin) and by choice. The Greek says, 'We all missed the mark.' I know that I have sinned. How about you?
Roman 6:23: 'For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ, our Lord.'
God's righteousness demands judgment which is death, not physical because we all will die. But spiritual, eternal separation from God in a place call Gehanna or hell, prepared for Satan and his angels.
he will say unto all those
rejected him Matthew 25:41:
'... depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels''
2 Peter 3:9: 'The Lord is not slack concerning his promise'but is long suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
God tells us that He does not want anyone to go there.
But God made provision for our sins by sending His own son to die on the cross paying the penalty for our sins.
I Corinthians 15:3: 'For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures.'
Notice very closely, 'According to the Scriptures.'
I Corinthians 15:4: 'And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.'
Again we see 'According to the Scriptures''
Matthew 20:17 ' 19: 'And Jesus, going up to Jerusalem, took the twelve disciples aside along the way, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death, And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him. And the third day he shall rise again.'
These are called the 'infallible truths.' The most recorded event in the world is that the Lord Jesus Christ bodily arose from the dead!
I Corinthians 15:5 - 8: 'And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve. After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain unto this present time, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then, of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.'
The Next Step of the Gospel'
Romans 10:9 ' 10, 13: 'That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.'
You must confess out loud (verbally) with your mouth and believe (where?) in your heart.
Notice verse 10: 'For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness.'
This must be a heart confession, not a head confession! But the evidence will be found in a new life.
Galatians 5: 22'23: 'But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, self-control; against such there is no law.'
II Corinthians 5:17: 'Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation: old things are past away: behold all things are become new.'
already shared about the young man, Kenneth in
I want to use another illustration...
His next words shocked me and filled me with praise to God for His leading! 'I want this free gift from God.' I led him in the sinner's prayer; he confessed his sins and asked the Lord Jesus Christ into his heart and life.
He knew that he would be an outcast from his family and possibly suffer death but he was born again, a believer in Christ.' He had a heart conversion, changing his life.
Satan deceives many people to say a little prayer and that is your fire escape from hell! That comes from the father of lies and does not change your life! There is no fruit of the Holy Spirit or desire to live for, and serve God.
Like Kenneth, you may need to talk or pray with someone, would like some Scripture verses or possibly to share the good news of your salvation.
