"HELP ME!"
Precious
One . . .
Do you feel hopeless right now? So hopeless that you believe God isn’t concerned about how much pain you are feeling? If you’re not currently surrendered to the Lord Jesus Christ, we would highly encourage you to do so. The Lord Jesus Christ not only is the hope giver … He is hope, because He is God, and all good things come from the Creator. All power and authority has been given to Jesus Christ from the Father to perform any miracle that He determines to execute on your behalf (See: Matthew 28:18), and being set free from extreme hopelessness may very well be as much of a miracle for you as Jesus Christ being resurrected from the dead.
(If you would like to read some
precious scriptures for your hopelessness, click
here.)
However,
if you are a believer on the Lord Jesus Christ, (though you may feel a
little “disconnected from Him at the moment), and hopelessness has gripped you,
you need to be reminded that hopelessness is a favorite playground of the devil.
You need to trust the Lord to guide you in the appropriate direction He has for you
-
to be delivered of your hopelessness. Only He has a
permanent and lasting solution to your situation. Root causes involving
physical pain can be physiological … nutrition deficiencies, or chemical
imbalances (often caused from nutritional imbalances) [any number of reasons] … and appropriate medical attention
may
need to be sought after. If your situation involves the lack of finances, abuse of some kind
(be it physical, emotional and/or spiritual), undue stress, fear, (or any number
of other problems) ... you may need to seek adequate counsel from credible
sources other than just medical professionals. The reason
for saying this is because when we seek medical/nutritional professionals solely
to solve all of our hopelessness issues, the professionals we receive
advice from may fail to realize that “hopelessness” can be a spiritual weapon used by the devil to
get us to feel like God no longer “cares” … which then progresses to
thoughts of … “What’s the reason to go on living, let alone trust Jesus
Christ anymore?”
The dangerous truth is, you can be physiologically and nutritionally healthy,
have sufficient financial resources to meet your needs, and still be trapped
into a state of hopelessness by the devil, and if that happens to be your
situation right now, you may need spiritual medicine as well to be
completely healed of
your hopelessness. We need to seek God to give us credible Christian
advisors/counselors for spiritual solutions to our spiritual problems.
Pray and ask God if that is what He would have you to do in your present
situation -- contacting a credible Christian advisor/counselor. If that is
simply not an option for you, then you have no recourse but to pray and have God
be your sole advisor/counselor, as multitudes have done in the past. Extreme hopelessness
is an emotional and spiritual cancer in the opinion of many. It is so lethal that suicide can begin to be the only thing occupying
your thoughts if you don’t let The Great Physician heal you of it. In it’s milder forms, it can trap you into chemical addictions of all
kinds, eating disorders, sleep disorders, breakdown of your immune system to
protect you from viruses … a whole list of harmful things can be given that
comes out of remaining in a state of hopelessness for very long.
If
you were to study the Old and New Testament Bible solely as if it was a
“Spiritual Warfare Manual For The Survival Of Humanity,” (which it is, among other
things), would you be surprised that God is telling us something so critically
important for our emotional and spiritual health that maybe we have just glossed
over it as insignificant and important? The following portion of scripture found
in 1 Peter 5:7 is one of the
most powerful means God has given us to fight the devil’s bombardment of
hopelessness:
This promise from God’s Word may very well be in direct conflict to what you
are feeling right now. That's very understandable. Maybe you are
thinking to yourself: ‘God cares for me?! Well if He cares so
much for me, why did He allow me to get so
hopeless in the first place?!’
That
is a very logical and normal question to ask ... from an earthly
perspective in a troubled world. Most all of us have been in that
frame of mind at one time or another. Yet from a heavenly perspective, God
tells those of us who are in a painful and seemingly hopeless situation:
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart; lean not unto your own understanding;
acknowledge Him in all your ways, and He will direct your path." -- (Proverbs 3:5-6). God is not into answering questions very often the
way we tend to ask them. He is into sovereignly directing
our path as we place our trust in Him like a little child to show us what we are
expected to do (or not do), in our hopeless situation/s. That way, He gets
all the glory, which is what God is really into. Think about it a moment. How many of us want to really trust God all
that much as long as our human reasoning seems to be getting us by okay?
It's only when we've tried just about everything we can logically come up with,
and when that no longer works, we run to God and are willing to do
what Proverbs 3:5-6 says we should have been doing long before now, for most
people anyway. It's through suffering that we turn to God for help.
Seldom do we turn to Him when things are going "well" for us. Thus the
acquired wisdom from Godly people down through the centuries constantly bears
out this fact: God allows suffering to come into our lives to draw us
closer to Him, and the way He wants us relating to Him and to others. As
long as we have plenty of money, perceived security and our health, we'll try
just about every other way we can humanly think of to deal with our personal
conflict, rather than go to God and put our trust in Him to show us His way out
of the conflict. We know this may sting ... for you to hear this right now, but we don't want to be
watering down what we know God would have us share with you. For those of you who are Christian believers, and have been for sometime --
are you actively, daily engaging in spiritual warfare as Jesus tells us to do in
Matthew 6:9-15? If you didn't know Jesus is telling you how to daily
help keep the devil out of the situations in your life in this portion of scripture, it would be
our hope that you seek God for some much needed revelation on this critically
important matter. 1 Peter 5:7 very much bears this out: “Be
sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring
lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist
him, steadfast in the faith, know that the same sufferings
(hopelessness,
among other things)
are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.”
Here’s
where some people stop seeking God to deliver them of their hopelessness. They have believed that either the devil isn’t real, or if he
might be real, God certainly wouldn’t allow the devil to have any influence
over them. Experience teaches that the devil attacks more frequently those who don’t believe he’s real,
has no power ever over circumstances in their life, or
they thought or assumed that God wouldn’t allow the devil to influence them.
On the other hand, for those who need to hear God screaming across
the earth:
“Hey! Wake up people! You have a real enemy who has sometimes been
allowed to make your life a living hell if you don’t
learn to spot his attacks against you and take appropriate action to send him
fleeing before he can inflict even more serious pain!” In another dimension for dedicated Christian believers ... some think Job
suffered at the hand of Satan worse than anyone else could possibly suffer after
that. Would it surprise you to know that many have suffered for their
trust in the Lord much worse than Job? Degrees of suffering
unjustly are relative to internal pain -- not always just externally --
from what the human eye can see and attempt to measure. Here is an
excellent article on this topic that you may want to read: In The Desert of "Feeling" Forsaken? Precious one … God wants to set you free from your hopelessness … but you
must not allow the thoughts inside your mind tell you that
God cannot, or will not, set you free from your hopelessness. Those thoughts have been planted there by the devil himself, and you have
grace from God at this very moment to say to yourself out loud:
I
refuse to be sucked into this pit of despair and hopelessness any more! Lord, I know you have ALL power over the devil,
and over all things and situations, and I’m once again
choosing to put my trust in you to lead me out of this hopelessness. You said in 1 Peter 5:7 that I can cast this very care on you, and I’m
doing it right NOW. I’m handing
you my hopelessness, Lord, because you say I can, and your promise is that
‘You care for me.’ Just knowing that you care for me gives me hope once again.
I also ask you for wisdom and
direction so I can know what to do from here, Lord, and I'm going to trust you
as best that I'm able that you'll give it to me. Help me be patient about
it, Lord, because I know that you don't always move on our behalf as quickly as
we would always like, because we are impatient people.
Amen Dear one, obtain for yourself a Bible if you don’t have one already.
Begin to read the first four books of the New Testament. Meditate on the words
Jesus spoke. In those four books alone, Jesus promised so many things to
His followers that you can’t help but have your hope restored and your faith
reignited ...
bursting forth like a rose bush in spring that was under the winter snow for
months. Ask the Lord to point you to passages in the book of Psalms.
In times of hopelessness and despair, multitudes have been ministered to by
God's Spirit by meditating on the promises contained there. God has given
them to people of all ages for this very purpose! When
you are ready, go to Ephesians 6:10, and begin reading the passages that follow.
God is telling us that we are in a spiritual battle for our physical, emotional and
spiritual well-being, and here He gives us instructions in how to fight that
battle, otherwise we are going to be wounded and crippled from the devil's
attacks time and time again, if we don’t learn how and when to
“resist him” when it’s necessary.

Of God? Precious one ... if what you've just read seems way too complicated, and you
need some help from God right now, ask God for help to begin
praising and thanking Him. Praise and
thanksgiving is a vital expression of our faith, no matter how small our
faith might seem. It costs nothing. Praise and
thanksgiving to God pleases God so much.
Hopelessness is a work of evil designed to rob us of faith in God and His
promises in His Word, The Bible. Hopelessness wants to imprison us
to the point where we say to ourselves, "I'll praise and thank God when He
first comes through for me." The Holy Spirit wants to teach us to
praise and thank God in every situation we find ourselves in, whether pleasant
or unpleasant. Jesus did. That's the evidence of a maturing disciple
of Jesus Christ. Please consider reading the many Christian testimonies this website makes available as
well. God can use them to lift your spirit and most likely revive hope in you as you do.
If they didn't, we sure wouldn't be wasting our time publishing them. Feel free at any time to email us and share your difficult situation with us.
(We don't always have the time to acknowledge every email personally, but we
certainly will make the time to pray for you, asking and trusting the Lord to
direct your path in finding hope in your hopeless situation). Sometimes
just opening up to someone begins the delivering - hope restoring - healing
process ... especially in abuse cases where fear is involved, and/or when
suicide impulses are becoming too strong and/or too frequent. To Jesus Christ be the glory! He lived and died that you might have
life, and life more abundantly. (See: John 10:10). If it is in your
heart to truly be pleasing to God ... it is in Satan's heart to make you the
most miserable and hopeless person alive. Try to set all your emotional pain aside for a short while and go to Jesus
Christ in prayer and ask Him what your responsibility is in getting healed from
your hopelessness. Be encouraged
... He has a solution for you, and it certainly isn't forever
hopelessness. -- Precious Testimonies Staff
