THE AUSTIN CEMETERY
By: Hazel Wood, Rosalie Averett, Winnie Smith
The Austin Cemetery is located across the meadow from Austin. There are
several children buried in this little peaceful cemetery in the trees.
Most of them no longer have markers. There is a child buried there by the
name of Betty McCoy, the child of Trena McCoy. This child burned in a
house fire across the meadow in 1928. There is a daughter of Walt and
Georgia Frazier's buried here also. In the cemetery where the white picket
fence is located, there is a baby named Heaton. Is is thought that there
are approximately 17 children buried in this little cemetery.
